simonest ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

1. What data we collect

When you create an account and use simonest, we collect:

Account information: your full name and email address.
Property data: property names, addresses, and descriptions you enter.
Tenant data: tenant names, contact information, rent amounts, and lease dates.
Payment records: which months rent was marked as paid and the amounts.
Consent record: the timestamp when you accepted these terms.

We do not collect payment card details, government IDs, or any biometric data.

2. Why we collect it

We use your data exclusively to provide the simonest service:

To create and maintain your account.
To let you manage your properties, tenants, and rent payments.
To show you dashboard summaries and overdue rent alerts.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

3. How long we keep it

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (via Settings → Danger zone), all data — including properties, tenants, and payment records — is permanently and immediately deleted from our database.

4. Your rights (GDPR)

As a user, you have the right to:

Access — download a full copy of your data via Settings → Download my data.
Delete — permanently delete your account and all data via Settings → Delete account.
Rectify — update your name or email at any time via Settings → Profile.
Portability — your export is a standard JSON file you can use elsewhere.

5. Data security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a per-user salt. Session tokens are stored in HTTP-only, SameSite=Strict cookies and expire after 24 hours. We do not log passwords or transmit them in clear text.

7. Cookie Policy

simonest uses a single HTTP-only, SameSite=Strict session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and does not track you across other websites. No third-party cookies are used.
